Paul Donovan is a ceramic artist whose sculptures celebrate the human figure and its aspirations in joyful activity, capturing the dynamics of movement.
Inspired by the flints strewn over the Wessex landscape, Paul recreates their fragmentation using form and colour, from his studio in Salisbury.
His rough-hewn ceramics with their flinty forms aim to remind us of man's long-working relationship with this material, highlighting their shared vulnerability to the elements of nature.
Paul's work has been featured in several books and magazines. He attended the Museum School of Fine Arts Boston USA, and was mentored by Althea Wynne FBSS.
